The Isle of Wight Bus & Coach Museum was  established in 1997 and contains an impressive display of vintage buses and coaches, collected to display the Island’s transport heritage.

The buses are housed in a former grain storage warehouse, on Newport Quay.  They range from a 1889 tram car and a 1927 Daimler, to more  recent vehicles. There are examples of vehicles under restoration, many items of memorabilia, and a vast collection of photographs reflecting the heyday of the  Island as a holiday destination.

The Bus Museum is run by an enthusiastic group of volunteers and new members are always welcome.  We are a working museum with restored vehicles operating on  special occasions such as bus rallies, carnival events and special operating days.

Wheelchair access is available to most areas.  There is a well stocked gift shop, and refreshments/toilet facilities close by.

Make your trip to the Isle of Wight complete with a trip to this fascinating museum, and relive the bygone times of the ‘Golden Age of Bus Transport’.
